It finally begins. Today, Sony Online Entertainment’s president, John Smedley, announced phase two of the Planetside Two Beta.
Apparently on Monday the 30th of July, the floodgates will steadily creak open for Planetside veterans, PC gamer code owners and those of us lucky to have scored beta keys through twitter, Facebook or at the live events.
To further clarify, John has also posted that the Veterans and Priority Key owners will get in before the general people who registered on the website.

For those of you who have not been following the mmofps genre, Planetside Two is the sequel to Planetside, a massive fps game that boasted online war between 300 players at once in a huge persistent battlefield. It’s sequel, PS2 aims to beat that with up to 2000 players on a continent. As a former Planetside player myself I can say I am extremely excited to see this game, Planetside had some impressive fights with just 100 players fighting over a base, so the shift in scale brings a potential that has not been seen before in any online shooter.
